IDL MarsWRF verification code and results from the benchmark simulation

IDL is an interactive data language and requires a license. You can write your own IDL programs to explore and analyze your simulation results.

If you ran the default Mars simulation (exactly as described in the users guide) then by running the IDL programs simp1.pro and simp2.pro (in IDL type e.g. .run simp1.pro) you should see a sequence of plots like those shown below. The number you see will depend on how far your simulation has progressed: if you have completed one Mars years then you should see all of them.

Click on them to enlarge. Also note that the colors may differ slightly on different systems, but the contour levels should match.

“.run simp1.pro”: Zonal mean plots of U [zonal wind] and T [temperature] for 9 times of year:

“.run simp2.pro”: Plots of surface pressure, temperature and CO2 ice cover for 9 times of year:
